FLYING Plate and frame filter plates are the oldest filter plate design and the first generation recessed plates. The chamber is formed by a flat plate on each side of a frame. Cake is collected in the frame. Plate and frame filter plates are usually used for pressure below 5bar. Typical applications include the chemical industry (dye and pigment), the pharmaceutical industry  with high demands of hygiene.
